Come Audition For Our Latest Shows!

Picture
On Stage announces auditions for:
WXMAS MONROE CLASSIC HOLIDAY RADIO SHOW
-Directed by Marc Hammes

Before the internet, there was television. Before television, there was radio. And before that, there was Christmas!  Join us, as our recreation of the Golden Age of radio drama comes to life during this Holiday Season.  On Stage’s first live Christmas radio show captures the feel and the sounds of old-time radio theater.  Actors will be playing multiple characters with ingenious and dramatic sound effects. Experience the magic and nostalgia of radio, and create a new holiday memory. This delightful take on your favorite holiday stories and songs will leave no one saying, “Bah, Humbug!”

*Actors will be performing in a live studio audience radio style.  No memorization necessary.  We will be creating our own sound effects and scripts will be used like a readers theater production.  Actor’s voices and sound are key, but the audience will be able to see the magic “behind” the production too.  This will create a lot of fun and flexibility in casting!   It is ALL in your voice!

Auditions:  Wednesday, Oct. 28, 6-8pm  & Saturday, Oct. 31, 3-5pm
Please come any time during the audition dates and times.  Actors MUST wear a mask to enter.  Social distancing will be enforced and you may be asked to wait in your car until called, if necessary.  Auditions will last about 30 minutes.  There will be cold readings from the script.  *Bring your calendars and be prepared to note any rehearsal conflicts from the rehearsal schedule below.

CASTING INFORMATION
AGES (Suggested) 15 & Up
Actors will be playing at least 2 characters
Actors will be cast in either ACT 1 or ACT 2 as primary characters in each radio scene.  This is to keep social distancing and to be safe.
Actors may be asked to create sound effects for other scenes.
8 actors are needed for each act.
Total cast of (at least) 16 needed.

PERFORMANCES

PERFORMANCE NOTE:  This holiday show will have limited seating for its performances.  Only 20 seats will be available at each performance.  Tickets MUST be purchased (or vouchers redeemed) at Carmichael Drug in Monroe.  No online ticket sales or ticket sales at the door will be available.

Holiday show patrons will be required to have their temperature checked at the door and to wear a face mask during the entire performance.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  All audience members will be asked to follow the signs for entering and exiting the playhouse.  Patrons will be social distanced and assigned seats according to friend/family groups upon entrance.  The water cooler will not be available during this time.  Actors will be working in “radio style” sound boxes and socially distanced so that safety guidelines may be met.  We want our On Stage Family to enjoy the show and to be safe!
