On Stage Youth Workshops

Since 1980, On Stage has offered opportunities for youth to learn basics of theatre-craft.  During summer workshops, they develop confidence and enhance stage presence as they appear in performances free to the public.  Opportunities for acting, singing, choreography, and behind the scenes work are offered for all ages.   All stay connected to On Stage as community theatre.   Three separate workshops occur during the summer months: kindergarten through second grade, third through sixth grade, and seventh through twelfth grade.  Each workshop day begins with teaching of basic theatre techniques through acting games and activities. Students then work towards a performance at the end of the week.

Our goal is to provide a fun and unique theatrical experience for students who are looking for a wide range of benefits.  Theatre classes can help shy students become more comfortable in large groups.  They can provide practical public speaking skills, provide a creative outlet for kids with lots of energy, and of course, introduce children to the basics of theatre.  They can also help develop an appreciation for the arts that will last a lifetime.

All of our youth workshops are designed to be age appropriate, and are designed to benefit and challenge your student no matter what the experience level.  All students learn to hone their imagination and creativity through theatre games, arts and crafts, and rehearsing for a show, but ALL while having fun and gaining self-confidence.
