On Stage Youth Workshops

Since 1980, On Stage has offered opportunities for youth to learn basics of theatre-craft.  During summer workshops, they develop confidence and enhance stage presence as they appear in performances free to the public.  Opportunities for acting, singing, choreography, and behind the scenes work are offered for all ages.  All stay connected to On Stage as community theatre.  Three separate workshops occur during the summer months:  kindergarten through second grade, third through sixth grade, and seventh through twelfth grade.  Each workshop day begins with teaching of basic theatre techniques through acting games and activities.  Students then work on a show to perform at the end of the week.  All are musical theatre; registration and auditions are held in May and June and all participants learn their parts before coming to the workshops allowing time to develop an exciting and in depth production.
